 FAQs

  • Depth tarot is what I call my tarot practice in its current evolution. Over my decade-long tarot practice, I began to realize that I use tarot not to look ahead (i.e., to see the future), but rather to look deep within. I use tarot as a window into our inner worlds; a source of knowledge, a potent symbolic language that helps us to better know our own inner landscape.

  • No. While there are some similarities between a tarot session and a therapy session, they are two distinct and different practices. If you are unsure which is right for you, please get in touch, and I would be happy to discuss this with you.

  • No. Because of the boundaried nature of the therapist/client relationship, it is unethical to have dual relationships; i.e., to relate to each other in another context. If you are one of my current therapy clients, please do not book a tarot session with me. However, I am happy to recommend other tarot practitioners whom you may enjoy. I am also happy to discuss incorporating tarot into our therapy sessions.

If, however, you are currently in therapy with a different therapist, you are absolutely welcome to book a tarot session with me.

  • The short answer is that you can bring any question(s) you like to a tarot session. There are, however, some things to note:

-Tarot doesn’t do well with yes/no questions. Try to frame your question as open-ended. We can also formulate your question together at the start of the session.

-Tarot cannot read for other peoples’ realities who are not present. We can only read for you and your experience. For example, you can ask about your relationship to someone, but you can’t ask about their individual experience. The tarot is like a mirror, reflecting back whoever is present; it simply won’t work to ask about someone who isn’t here. However, we can absolutely delve into your feelings about, or experiences with, another person.

  • Nope! You might already have a specific question (or several!) for us to look at, but it’s totally fine if you don’t. You can bring a brain-dump, an issue, a vague theme, a wondering… it doesn’t even have to be phrased as a question. As long as it’s open-ended and personal, it’s right.

  • Yes! If you’d like to book a session with your partner, friend, family member, or someone else, please feel free! Just let me know when we’re scheduling.

  • Once you purchase a session (or set of 4), I will receive notice of this purchase. I will reach out to the email you provide within 1 business day, and we will find a mutually available time to meet.

This is also a good time to let me know if you have any particular questions or concerns that I can answer.

  • Accessibility is important to me. We live in a deeply unequal society, in which folks have access to different amounts of resources, based on identity, generational wealth, and other factors beyond our control.

Because of that, I am committed to offering sliding scale services in both my tarot work and my counseling work. You are invited to choose the pricing tier that best fits your situation/needs at this moment. You do not have to prove anything about your financial situation; simply choose the tier at checkout that feels right to you. The chosen tier will not affect the quality of service or session that you receive. I am grateful to you for choosing the tier that feels aligned with your access and resources.

  • There is nothing you need to do; you can show up exactly as you are. However, I do recommend centering yourself first with some deep breaths. Take the time, if possible, to make yourself comfortable. I would recommend a private, comfortable space where you can relax, and can speak freely without being overheard.

  • Yes! If you like, I will record the session and email it to you after we conclude. Just ask me at the start.

Regardless of whether you choose to record, I always take pictures of the tarot spread and email them to you after.

  • You are welcome to! Some people like to take notes during, others like to simply discuss and receive. Regardless of whether you take notes, I always recommend journaling after the session (either right after, at the end of the day, or the next morning) to help integrate the messages.

  • Take a deep breath; step away from your computer, if possible; maybe have a snack or go for a walk. In short, take care of yourself! Wading through our psyches is deep, potent work, and it can be difficult at times. Go easy on your body and mind afterward, and thank it for showing up to do the deep work.

I always recommend journaling afterward (either right after, at the end of the day, or the following morning) to help integrate the experience.

If there was a particular card that spoke to you during the session, I also recommend using that card as a visual reminder in the following days. If you have your own tarot deck, pull out that card and place it somewhere you’ll see it daily (your mirror, your kitchen table, your car dashboard…). This helps to visually remind yourself of the card’s message/intention. If you don’t have your own deck, you can view the photo I send of the spread, or else choose another symbol to remind you of the card’s message.

  • Yes! I am always available to you after/between sessions to answer clarifying questions about a certain message or card that came up. Feel free to email me or use the contact page on this website, and I will get back to you. If it’s something that can be answered via email or phone, I will be happy to do so. If it’s a deeper, lengthier follow-up question, we can book another session to dive in.
